Terms of Service
Terms for using the x402sms API.
Last updated: July 2026
The service
x402sms provides temporary virtual phone numbers that can receive SMS verification codes, sold per activation and paid in USDC via the x402 protocol. By using the API you agree to these terms.
Payment and refunds
- You authorize a maximum price at order time; payment settles only when an SMS code is delivered to your number
- Activations that are cancelled, expire, or fail for any reason settle $0 — there is nothing to refund because unsettled authorizations never move funds
- Prices are shown before payment (quote endpoint and 402 response) and may change between requests
Availability
- Numbers are temporary (~18 minutes) and provided as-is
- Inventory depends on third-party supply; we do not guarantee that a number for a specific service, country, or operator is available at any moment
- We do not guarantee that any third-party service will accept a given number
Acceptable use
You may use the service only for lawful purposes. See Prohibited Use. We may block clients that abuse the service, attack the API, or violate these terms — unused payment authorizations are simply never settled.
Liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amounts you actually paid (settled) in the 30 days preceding the claim.
Changes
